Materials Handling - Warehouse Workers / Inventory Supply / Receiving Clerks

Experience in a healthcare setting is a must!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Conducts physical inventory of supply areas, such as patient care and ancillary areas.

  • Utilizes the MM (Material Management) System to enter data and generate pick tickets.

  • Accurately picks items listed on pick tickets and verify expiration dates where necessary.

  • Responsible for delivery and stocking of materials to the various supply areas.

  • Stock materials in Point-of-use (Pyxis) supply stations, where applicable.

  • Responsible for the receipt, processing and delivery of phone, fax, walk-up and electronic supply requests.

  • Stage and delivers clean equipment to Biomedical that’s in need of repair or annual preventive maintenance.

  • Prepares parcel and freight shipments for pick-up by various carriers.

  • Prioritizes the receipt and delivery of all expedited shipments, including air (FedEx, UPS Red, etc.), taxi cab or special courier shipments, and all shipments designated “stat” or “rush” by Purchasing or Supply Chain Management.

  • Assists with or supervises the unloading of trucks whenever necessary; limited dock space requires that trucks be unloaded quickly, efficiently.

EDUCATION 

Required/Preferred

Education Level

  • Required - H.S. Diploma or GED

  • Preferred - Coursework/Training Vocational training and certification will also be considered. 

EXPERIENCE

Required/Preferred

  • Required - 1 year Recent experience (within the past 5 years) working in a Supply Chain environment utilizing a computerized Materials Management Information System. 

  • Experience in a healthcare environment is required.

  • Preferred Experience with material handling equipment (hand trucks, pallet jack, etc.).

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES 

  • Must possess the functional skills of typing, use of computers, computer software, as well as the ability to learn other software applications necessary in the performance of essential duties and functions.

  • This individual must possess the ability to work in a busy, high-pressure environment without direct supervision.

  • Knowledge of general office equipment, such as fax machines, copy machines and printers required.

  • Must possess the ability to read and write English.

  • Must have a demonstrated polite, articulate communication style and good listening skills.

  • Medical terminology training is preferred.

LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS

  • Forklift certification preferred.
