4 Tips Clinicians Should Use When Flying & Traveling – Travel Nurse Hacks Vol.2
One of the coolest tips this year, and once you learn it you will never forget it: Mark your luggage as FRAGILE.
Tip: But my bag isn’t fragile?… The Airline doesn’t know that, and the reason you should, is that your baggage / luggage won’t get crushed under all the other luggage, they actually will put your bags on top of the pile. This will not only protect your belongings from being lost or damaged but you will also benefit from being one of the first to get their bags when you get off your plane!
Jet lag isn’t fun, but here’s a tip: Go for a run prior to your flight! You’ll be glad you did…
Tip: Many of our Nurses love running to relieve stress and tension, but did you know that going for a running can actually stave off the effects of jet lag leaving you refreshed and ready for the day.
Making friends on the go is super easy these days thanks to technology and mobile apps!
Tip: If you are new to a location, or new to Travel Nursing don’t fret! You can make local friends fast as there are many local Facebook groups (you could make friends prior to going too), Apps like Backpackr, CouchSurfing or AirB&B as who else knows the local area better than the home owners and locals who rent out their rooms? For the singles, there’s always Tinder & OkCupid
Forgot to bring your Bluetooth speaker? No worries, make your own! Our Nurses are brilliant, that’s no question. We got this tip form a local travel Nurse and it really works!
Tip: Take any toilet paper or paper towel roll and cut a slit in it the width of your phone where your sound comes out, and then tuck your phone in the slit you created. It will turn that simple paper roll into your very own Bose sound system. Anyone ready to party?! Let’s dance!
