Experience in Healthcare is a must!
Assembles trays according to standards, assuring all items on the ticket (dup) are on the tray. Checks that plating guidelines and presentation standards have been followed.
Delivers meal trays to patient rooms, placing tray on bedside table within reach of the patient. (Exception: in critical care areas, locates nurse prior to delivery – only delivers if nurse requests and Isolation Rooms: places meal tray outside of patient’s room and notifies patient and nurse that the patient’s meal has arrived).
Delivers food orders to cash sales customers and processes transaction according to procedure. Records daily productivity on log and maintains acceptable delivery rate.
Consistently follows the GEL IN and GEL OUT procedure upon entry and exit of each patient room.
Consistently verifies patient’s name and birth date upon delivery of meal to patient room.
Orients patients and visitors to the A la Carte Dining Program using standard procedure.
Delivers tube feeding formulas to nourishment room, and puts away in cabinet or refrigerator as appropriate. Leaves dup with tube feeding formula. Returns all extra or expired tube feedings to kitchen and notify lead or supervisor.
Wipes down and sanitizes cart at end of shift and any time it becomes soiled.
Retrieves soiled meal trays from patient rooms if present when entering and places in soiled utility room on unit.
Completes assigned cleaning and stocking tasks. Practices FIFO when stocking.
Follows cash handling procedures and deposits cash receipts and cash at the end of shift. (FH & Ballard Only).
Completes and remains competent in all Diet Modules. Utilizes knowledge and available tools to assure tray accuracy.
Takes and records temperatures for refrigeration units, and concentration of sanitizer solution as assigned.
Responsible for scheduling all inpatient and outpatient procedures using the PHS scheduling system.
Coordinates gastro procedure schedule with physicians and hospital departments; prepares daily schedule for distribution, recording, and communicating special requests.
Assists in patient check-in. Obtains all patient demographics to set up pre-registration account.
Reviews and processes all patient charges.
Coordinates patient information with the Registration department.
Responsible for ESP Staff Scheduling.
Prepares and distributes daily schedule.
Accurately obtain, input, prepare and distribute all necessary information relative to a patient's registration for inpatient care, emergency care, and all outpatient services, in order to maintain an accurate medical record and ensure proper billing for services.
Follow managed care procedures, as applicable, to ensure authorization of services.
Explain and obtain signatures on consent of admission form and any other forms as appropriate.
Verify the accuracy of information on all pre-registered patients upon arrival, and make appropriate corrections to the system as necessary to ensure accurate records.
Provide excellent customer service by appropriately greeting and responding to inquiries from patients, visitors, and physicians.
Direct or escort patients and visitors to their destination.
Coordinate bed assignment with the nursing unit for all direct admits to ensure an efficient admission process for the patient.
Patient Services Coordinator
Customer service: Creates a safe and comfortable environment. Demonstrates caring behavior. Ensures effective and efficient work process. Provides clear and relevant information. Provides a prompt, reliable response.
Communication: Answers the telephone by identifying the department and own name. Records and relays messages in a courteous and helpful manner. Checks voice mail for messages. Orients patients and families to the clinic. Available to patients and families if there are questions or concerns.
New Referral Intake: Receives and completes all information required for new patient referral. Verifies required information, e.g. medical information, verification of Insurance information, referring MD letter for service when requested.
Patient Registration: Admits all new patients to the clinic. Re-admits patients with closed accounts.
Page hospital personnel as requested.
Assist hospital personnel, patients and visitors in completing calls. Provide phones for patients when requested.
Answer incoming calls on our TTY/TTD phone line and assist the caller with inquiries. Document the minimum amount of information from the caller necessary for the follow up required. Make necessary call(s) on their behalf and advise the service to follow up with the caller via the Washington Relay Service.
Bed Control Coordinator
Communicates on an ongoing basis with housekeeping and/or housekeeping supervisors to ensure bed turnover is accomplished timely in order to maintain a limited wait time for a clean room. Collaborates routinely with the Patient Access and Case Management Departments.
Obtains Surgery schedule information and assigns appropriate beds with clinical input from Administrative Admissions Coordinator.
Highly accurate and able to handle a fast paced environment while maintaining strong communications with key stakeholders.
Maintains open communication by responding to needed requests and providing pertinent information to nursing units, physicians, ancillary departments, and other areas of the hospital in order to assist in execution of department processes, ensure accurate coordination of services and patient placement.
Required - H.S. Diploma or GED
Preferred - Associates Degree
Required - 1 year Customer service experience.
Preferred Experience in a healthcare environment.
Patient Registration or financial counseling or insurance and medical terminology experience.
Clerical hospital experience, preferably in surgery or a physician’s office for Schedulers
JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
This position requires a working knowledge of medical terminology, insurance plans, computer applications and organizational policies and procedures related to the admission process.
Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work with diverse group of people; works well with the public and a good team player.
Possesses excellent communication skills, oral and written, and guest relation skills; and familiarity with medical terminology.
Ability to work with computers; possesses working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Ten-key.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees or organization.
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; performing these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Possesses the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to work under pressure required.
